The Franklin County Fire Marshal's Office is a county law enforcement agency which has been designated by the Franklin County Commissioners' Court as the arson investigating entity for the County. The County Fire Marshal works closely with the Texas State Fire Marshal's Office in the investigation of fires determined to be suspicious or arson. The Texas State Fire Marshal's Office, as a state police agency, has jurisdiction to investigate fires and perform fire safety inspections throughout the State of Texas.
NOTICE: The Franklin County Commissioners' Court has not adopted county fire codes. Existing structures and new construction must, therefore, comply with the Fire Codes of the State of Texas. The codes can be accessed by visiting the Texas State Fire Marshal's Office website below.
