Franklin County Veterans Services
- Claims Assistance and Representation- Assists Veterans in preparing, submitting and process disability claims, pensions and survivor benefits with the VA
- Counseling and Education- Assists Veterans and their families to identify eligible programs and explain VA laws and procedures
- Advocacy- Franklin CountyVSO acts as liaison between Veterans and the Department of Veterans Affairs to ensure maximum benefits are awarded.
- Document Gathering- Assists Veterans in obtaining service treatment records, medical evidence, and personal records, along with DD-214’s to support claims
- Appeals Advocacy- Assists Veterans in the filing of appeals for denied claims
- Outreach and Referrals- Coordinates with community resources for mental health, housing, financial and other support services
- Travel Claims- Assists Veterans with travel claim submissions
- Education- Assists Veterans with education assistance programs through the VA and State of Texas. Hazelwood Act
- Home Health Care- Assisting Veterans with in home health care, and available grants (HISA) etc., for medical modification to their home
- Franklin County Inmates-Assist Veterans Incarcerated within Franklin County, Under Texas Senate Bill 2938, to secure Federal benefits
- VA Home Loans / Veterans Land Board- Assist veterans with VA home loans and obtain land through the VLB
